Sacramento County operates the Low Income Health Program (LIHP) in partnership with Molina Healthcare of California.
What is LIHP?
LIHP is a health care coverage program for uninsured childless adults with very low income levels.
What are the eligibility criteria?
You may qualify for LIHP if you meet the following criteria:
- 19 - 64 years of age
- Sacramento County resident (need proof of residency)
- U.S. citizen or Legal Permanent Resident with date of entry 5 years or more before your application date.
- Meet income guidelines between 0% - 67% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL)
- Not eligible for public insurance programs such as Medi-Cal
How do I apply?
For information on eligibility requirements and how to apply, visit Department of Human Assistance (DHA) LIHP Page. Applications are evaluated for Medi-Cal, LIHP, and CMISP. There is no asset or property test for the LIHP.
