There are two significant new initiatives affecting Sacramento’s Medi-Cal enrollees. First, the State Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) successfully negotiated the 1115 Waiver which re-organizes healthcare for indigent persons and provides fiscal support to public hospitals. (See Low Income Health Program.) Additionally, Sacramento County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) staff worked with Senator Steinberg’s office to develop legislation providing for Sacramento County DHHS to convene a Stakeholder Advisory Committee for Sacramento’s Managed Care system. This website will keep you informed about the Advisory Committee.Because the 1115 waiver mandates thousands of new enrollees into managed care systems, stakeholder cohesion is critically important. The Advisory Committee will provide an organized forum for system improvements necessary to ensure continued high-quality, cost effective Medi-Cal services for Sacramento enrollees.
Please see Sacramento Medi-Cal Managed Care Advisory Committee Charter for membership information.
